根據Steve Leuthold計算，去年底一間市值三十萬美元慨物業，收租只有一萬五千美元一年，扣除1.1％物業稅三千三百美元、0.4％保險費一千二百美元、1％維修費三千美元一年，實質收入只有七千五百美元，即回報率只有二厘半；如果借錢慨話（95％按揭計），利率是六厘三五，利息負擔係一萬八千零九十七美元一年，供樓貴過交租一萬多美元（因所有稅項一樣要支付），因此Leuthold認為美國物業已冇吸引力。
